The Arizona Wind Working Group (AzWWG) was formed in November 2001 with funding from the U.S. Department or Energy Wind Powering America Program. Northern Arizona University is the lead organization responsible for managing the group, its activities and outreach, and holding semi annual meetings.  Dr. Tom Acker, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering is co-leader of the group, along with Ms. Amanda Ormond of the Ormond Group.
